From: pluton on 1 Dec 2009 04:14 Hello everybody, I'm just trying Mathematica 7.0 and seeing that the vector format rendering (in eps for instance) does not use the gradient capabilities but many small monochrome triangles instead yielding very large files. Do you know if the feature can be expected soon ? Thank you
From: pluton on 12 Dec 2009 06:56 in order to illustrate what I meant, here is a movie explaining how Mathematica could render specific objects with complex color features in a simple vector format object with gradients : http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/people/jiansun/videos/GMesh_336.wmv
From: Syd Geraghty on 13 Dec 2009 04:47 Jian Sun, Having looked at some of the videos in your published work it would certainly be a capability I would love included in Mathematica. I expect that there are folks at WRI who could implement the methods you have developed given enough encouragement from MathGroup members and other Mathematica users. However, are there any restrictions on use of the methods since you work for Microsoft Research in Asia? How about you supplying a Mathematica Package? Incidentally I really liked your photo collection on FlickR and encourage those in MathGroup to check them out. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jiansun/ MathGroup members might also like to know that you have an opening for an intern posted on: http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/people/jiansun/ Cheers .... From: magma on 15 Dec 2009 07:26 I concur with Syd. These are definitely interesting capabilities that we look forward seeing in future version of Mathematica.
From: pluton on 15 Dec 2009 07:28 is Jian Sun part of this group?
