I have recently emigrated from windows to mac (SL). In windows, using
winzip or winrar it is possible to view the content of zip or rar file and
to extract the desired files. How can I do this in SL? Double clicking just
extracts the entire directory.

Thanks

Several others for your consideration that would display the contents
in addition to extracting:

Better Zip (zip, rars)
ForkLift (zip, rars; primarily a file browser)
Pacifist (zips; primarily a package explorer)
SimplyRAR (rars)
Springy (zips, rars)

SimplyRAR is freeware, the others are shareware. Check out
