MathWorks has released a patch to R2010a for MEX and Visual C++ 2010 (Professional and Express versions). See:

This provides support for MEX only. If you need other MathWorks products to interop with Visual C++ 2010 Express, you will likely need to wait for the next version of MATLAB. There is small mention of MathWorks' plans on the road map:
