when I try to insert copy character ahead is deleted

From: edwardm9350 on 22 Feb 2010 19:40 I'm woking in Word 2003. If I try to insert a word...instead of just inserting the word the character ahead of where I intend to insert gets deleted. I end up having to re-type the entire line.
