What was the edition of Windows that was previously installed, if any ? What is the installed antivirus/security suite; is a 3rd party firewall being used ? 80072EE is an incomplete error code as they ALL contain 8 characters. Was the error 80072EE2, 80072EE7, or 80072EEF ? Windows 7 does not connect with 'windowsup page', instead, it connects with the update servers. Please click the Start orb > in the 'Search programs and files' field type in windowsupdate.log Under *Programs* click on windowsupdate.log When the log opens scroll all the way to the bottom for the most current entries. Please copy and paste at least the last 50 or so lines of the log into your reply.
