From: Bill on 26 Nov 2008 11:31 Hello Is there any advanage to running x64 Windows 2008 Terminal Servers with x86 (32-bit) applications. With a x86 server there is a limit of 4GB, 2GB for the OS / 2GB for user space. With x64 I would assume that this limit would be removed, but the x86 applications would still be limited to addressing memory under the 4GB. Could someone verify or give some advice. Thanks
From: jolteroli on 26 Nov 2008 12:26 yes, 32 bit address space is what 32 bit applications expect and also what they get in WoW. 2^32=4GB, sorry... -jolt "Bill" <bill_golem-nospam(a)bwdsb.on.ca> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:f1uqi4hvbf1dodcjjk072l1k84calitirl(a)4ax.com... > Hello > > Is there any advanage to running x64 Windows 2008 Terminal Servers > with x86 (32-bit) applications. From: Bill on 26 Nov 2008 12:47 That's what I though would be the answer. So then no point running x64 TS with 32bit apps. Thanks for the input. From: Paul Shapiro on 26 Nov 2008 18:09 One x64 advantage is you can have more memory on the TS, so you can support more sessions. Each WoW application can only have 2GB available, but total ram can be far above the 4GB x32 limit. That's what I am after, more sessions as my application doesn't require alot of CPU power. I just run into the 2GB limit with a 32bit OS.
