From: Hugo Wau on 10 Feb 2010 14:50 I want to run on my lenny sytem xmacrorec from the package xmacro. Usage: xmacrorec [options] remote_display Options: -d DELAY delay in milliseconds for events sent to remote display. Default: 10ms. -s FACTOR scalefactor for coordinates. Default: 1.0. -k KEYCODE the keycode for the key used for quitting. -v show version. -h this help. I have no idea, how to set up a (virtual?) remote_display or what to enter here, to make xmacrorec work. I would appreciate your help with this program - or is there an other piece of software to record and to playback mouse and keypoard actions for to use such in a script? Hugo W.

From: mtp5150 on 11 Feb 2010 19:10 Hi Hugo, Sorry, I don't know anything about xmacrorec or xmacroplay. On another note make sure when you reply to posts on the mailing list that you are posting your reply to the list (debian-user(a)lists.debian.org) and not directly to someones email address. This way everyone can see your reply and maybe give you more help. From: Hugo Wau on 11 Feb 2010 19:40 Sorry, I am not at my own PC - and not using the default mail application but am using webmail and forgot to have an extra look at the "TO:" line after hitting the REPLY button. The old versions of Windows 3.0 and 3.1 came with a RECORDER application by default. And something like that is what I am looking for because I have to extract amounts of data from websites, while being logged in to that site.. Elinks could do it for me without such a recorder software IF there would be a way to remain logged in while calling the next webpage from a script. Is there an other way to hit the NEXT-Button in web-pages from a script, other than using a recorded macro?
