From: John John - MVP on 3 Feb 2010 14:25 It will have to be a clean install, you can't upgrade 32-bit XP to 64-bit. You can install it on a different partition of its own, E will be fine. No. You can not upgrade from 32-bit to 64-bit. The only way to get 64-bit is by a clean installation. > or do i need to > have a dual boot? You *can*, but you don't need to. To me, there's no good reason to dual-boot. If you want 64-bit, install it cleanly and get rid of the 32-bit version. You'll have to reinstall your programs, but to me that's less of a problem that having to deal with a dual-boot situation. > do i need two drives or a partition drive? Partitioning a drive into two is essentially the same as having two drives. The software can't tell the two situations apart. > my drive have 4 > partitions C_D_E_H. enough space in E ( 91.8 GB ) > > 770-685-1869 > > ep91729(a)gmail.com > Thanks -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) since 2003 Please Reply to the Newsgroup

No; You could; Doesn't matter. Do you accept collect calls? Do you realize you've just told everyone in the world (including thieves) that you live at 1201 North Park Ln in Alpharetta, GA 30004? emmanuel prepetit wrote: > could i installed 64 on pro 32 without loosing my programs? or do i need > to > have a dual boot? do i need two drives or a partition drive? my drive have > 4 > partitions C_D_E_H. enough space in E ( 91.8 GB ) > > 770-685-1869 > > ep91729(a)gmail.com > Thanks |
