From: Bruce Horrocks on 22 Jun 2010 19:51 Since upgrading to 10.6.4, setting an alarm for an event in iCal gives the options as: Display message 20175 minutes before Play sound "Basso" 60663 seconds after ... and other odd combinations of minutes and seconds rather than hours and days as before. Is anyone else seeing this or have I managed to screw-up something elsewhere and it is just fluke that I've only noticed it since 10.6.4? -- Bruce Horrocks Surrey England (bruce at scorecrow dot com)

Nope, I just tried with a Google calendar and got offered the usual 15 minute etc options, and also with a local calendar. > Is anyone else seeing this or have I managed to screw-up something > elsewhere and it is just fluke that I've only noticed it since 10.6.4? There are some alarm durations in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist: <key>PersistentMenu-lastUsedAlarms</key> <array> <dict> <key>AlarmDurationKey</key> <integer>-54000</integer> <key>AlarmTypeKey</key> <integer>2</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>AlarmDurationKey</key> <integer>-900</integer> <key>AlarmTypeKey</key> <integer>2</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>AlarmDurationKey</key> <integer>-1800</integer> <key>AlarmParameterKey</key> <string>Blow</string> <key>AlarmTypeKey</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> <dict> <key>AlarmDurationKey</key> <integer>-1500</integer> <key>AlarmParameterKey</key> <string>Glass</string> <key>AlarmTypeKey</key> <integer>3</integer> </dict> </array> Maybe those are mangled on your machine? -- Chris

Nope, just got the usual 15mins, 5mins etc. Jim -- "Microsoft admitted its Vista operating system was a 'less good product' in what IT experts have described as the most ambitious understatement since the captain of the Titanic reported some slightly damp tablecloths." http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/

The same thing has happened here (and it's new). iCal also forgot its passwords for a remote server, on two different machines. Daniele |
