A new install on a new disk - 11.1 with kde3 selected, and a couple of kde4
things added (kate, sysmonitor). It went through a few reboots always with
kde3 and then went to kde4. Strange because most of kde4 was not installed,
even as support for those few kde4 utilities (kate/kde4).

I was able to logoff and back in with kde3 selected, but it should never
have gone to kde4. When it was in the kde4 desktop, there were no icons on
the screen, even the default ones for kde3.
