Totally ON topic, if the free is a rip-off of the other one.
They are too similar to be a coincidence. Or is the non-free one a
rip-off of the other ?

Huh? I posted this before seeing any other responses. I had mentioned
that Efficient Pim is payware. The other poster indicated a free
version, but not of Efficient Pim, but of Essential Pim. I was simply
inquiring if there was a free version of Efficient Pim.

Why the hostility?

With the names being so similar, I erred when typing their names. That
should've been:

Thanks for the clarification.

I've just looked at the portable version of the freeware product for
efficient PIM, and, wellll, efficient doesn't quite describe it.

My first attempt would be to import my calendar into Efficient PIM. It
won't import anything except csv files! What happened to importing
standard .ical files? The result -- flawed. It skipped lots of
calendar entries, in particular those that were all-day events. Just
worthless.

I may take another look later.
