Works great for me.

This is Version 7 of Diskeeper Lite, circa 2002, which I use myself on Win98SE. It's also a bit flakey. It pops up for no reason on occasion to announce that one of my USB flash cards has "1" excess fragment(!!) for instance. And there have been times when it just ran a drive till I thought it would trash it without any sign of achieving anything. But so far, my drives have survived, and it is easier to use than the stock Win98 program. A year ago or so, I read of a version 9, and I believe it was bundled in some MS utility pack, which for some reason I wasn't able to download with my ancient browser because of MS's configuration demands. BTW - since someone mentioned that the native Win2K browser is all you need, I'd pass on a friend's observation that defragging on a regular basis with Win2k's native defragmenter corrupts mp3 files. Hopefully, this is not the case with the later vintage Diskeeper. -- Achim _____/) axethetax

Correction - it turns out Diskeeper Lite 9 is bundled in an Intel utilty package, and was reported in ACF previously. It's still available for free download at the URL below. The only catch is that its description refers only to systems using W2K or XP, not Win98 or ME. Has anyone here tried it on 98? It's an 89MB download for the bundle, and there's a report that on W2K you have to uninstall the earlier Diskeeper version to install V 9. http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/software/idu/ -- Achim _____/) axethetax
