Good thought, but that didn't do it. I know it invokes msiexec.exe
and something around there doesn't work right. I can't get VPC back
on until I figure out how to fix it.

Any updates to this? I just installed RC VPC2007 for the first time
after having VPC2004 working fine and I get the same "A valid Product
ID is required to operate Virtual PC. Please re-run the Virtual PC
installer and enter a valid Product ID when requested." error. The
installer cleaner did not work for me either.

To help diagnose this, I enabled MSI logging and reinstalled VPC2007
and saw these entries below that looked interesting. Note: I was
never prompted with the Welcome or License agreement dialog and never
had the opportunity to accept/reject the license for the entry
"Property(S): AgreeToLicense = No".

I also have this problem. Very annoying. Right now I have both vista and xp installed on seperate hard drives, and while the install works perfectly on vista, it doesn't ask me to accept the EULA, or where to install on XP. msiexec takes up lots of resources, then after a few seconds seems to be dormant. I've read around alot on the internet and there doesn't seem to be much documentation for this.

Is it possible this could be fixed by somehow copying the reg code from a computer that it installs successfully to one it doesn't. I looked around a little, but didn't have much time. I'll dig around tonight when I have more time.
