From: Barry Margolin on 19 Sep 2009 01:05 I'm not able to watch full episodes at abc.com any more. At first it said that it needed to upgrade the plug-in, so I let it do that, but it never completed. Then I removed Move-Media-Player.plugin from ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins, restarted Safari, and it said it needed to install the plug-in, but this just hung after Java asked for unrestricted access. But I looked in the console log, and it looked like it completed, so I closed the window and went back. Now when I try to play an episode it doesn't ask about installing anything, but the "Loading..." icon just spins forever. I was able to watch full episodes at abc.com a couple of weeks ago. I don't know if the problem is related to the new version of the plug-in or to Snow Leopard. Is anyone else having this problem? -- Barry Margolin, barmar(a)alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE post questions in newsgroups, not directly to me *** *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group ***

My QT plugin was modified, but if anything else was done, it was probably nsIQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, only 2k. There was no dialog indicating the install was completed, but after same, I was able to play videos. -- john mcwilliams

All the more reason to get tv shows here: https://eztv.it/ -- Suddenly he realized that he was alone with a giant halfwit on a dark deserted street. -- Chester Himes

Well, it turns out that the show I wanted to catch is also at Hulu, which still works fine. They used to just link back to abc.com, I guess they've formed a relationship now. -- Barry Margolin, barmar(a)alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE post questions in newsgroups, not directly to me *** *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group ***

I just noticed that the bundle folder /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Quicktime Plugin.plugin was modified today, but none of the files within it has been modified recently. So nothing has *really* changes there, as far as I can tell. > > There was no dialog indicating the install was completed, but after > same, I was able to play videos. I still can't play them in Safari, but I discovered that they work in Firefox. I have the same problem at cwtv.com, which also uses the Move Media Player. -- Barry Margolin, barmar(a)alum.mit.edu Arlington, MA *** PLEASE post questions in newsgroups, not directly to me *** *** PLEASE don't copy me on replies, I'll read them in the group *** |
