From: Howard on 26 Feb 2010 14:16 Hi all, I have an Airport Express that I bought last year and used it once. Now I cannot get it to work properly. I plugged it in and plugged in an ethernet internet cable. I don't have the original software but I used the new Airport application. First of all it wouldn't recognise any Apple wireless network. Then about five minutes later it suddenly popped up and I get in with my password. I changed the name of the network and saved it and then quit. However the Airport utility still didn't find any network. So I went to System Prefs and started Airport. It found the Express wireles network and I entered the same password as earlier. It refused access saying it needed a WEP password..... it repeated this several times... Am I missing something ? Tks... Howard

Set it all up again and no problems since. -- Phil http://www.philwalters.co.uk http://twitter.com/philwalters

Do you have to do that with the express plugged in ? Yes. I've generally done it by holding down the button while powering on the Airport Express (easiest if it is in a switched outlet) and waiting for the light to blink rapidly before releasing the button. Re the missing disk - don't worry about it. It just includes a version of Airport Utility which is new enough to support the particular model of Airport base station. If you have sufficiently recent version of Mac OS X it will come with the same or a newer version of Airport Utility anyway. -- David Empson dempson(a)actrix.gen.nz
