From: Woody on 26 Feb 2010 20:45 I have a 3 dongle which I use on my FauxSX Advent/macbook. I also have a number of other small devices that I use from time to time, and sabby has her archos 7. I am almost certainly getting an iPad. Thinking about the price of the iPad, and the micro sim etc, and looking at contracts, I thought the MiFi would be a good thing. Takes 3G, pipes it out as wireless, can use it on a few devices at the same time. Means I can get the cheaper iPad, and share the same connection between that and other things. Anyone have one? I looked at the new price on 3, and the contracts are a bit expensive, like 9.50 for 1GB. But I already have the dongle so I thought I could just take the existing sim out of that, which is 7.50 for 5GB, so I got one unlocked on eBay. -- Woody www.alienrat.com

I think the unlocked ones on eBay were more than the price of the PAYG ones direct from 3. There's 12 cashback from Quidco too which meant you could get them down to sub 40 from 3. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs.

Does it now not expire *ever*? I thought it was about 6 months if unused (but yes you don't lose monthly credit though in case that's what you meant). ;-) Cheers, T i m

It was the same price as the PAYG one, but I liked the idea of the unlocked data, it would have been nice to have one in the states when I was there before. -- Woody www.alienrat.com

According to the site it's only for 30 days <http://online.vodafone.co.uk/broadband/mobile-broadband> Seriously interested as a non expiring data sim would be useful to me. -- Jon B Above email address IS valid. <http://www.bramley-computers.co.uk/> Apple Laptop Repairs. |
