From: pfgpowell on 23 Jul 2010 15:28 For the hell of it, I have trying out Quicktime Broadcaster in connection with my Sony digital camcorder (firewire) and a cheapo USB webcam using Justin.TV. And I must say that I am not impressed with QB. It keeps crashing and when it does work, half the time the picture doesn't get through. This is all on a 1.42 iBook and a 1.67 Powerbook. I happen to use for work an Lenovo IBM (or something) running XP and so I downloaded Flash Media Live Encoder which is a LOT better, plus the Lenovo has a built-in webcam. But as my personal laptops are Macs (and work isn't too keen on us downloading extra-mural software) I was wondering 1) does QB keep crashing because I am doing something wrong or does it just stink? And 2) are there any freeware or shareware alternatives for OSX which also do the job. FMLE is for Windows only.
