Can anyone run this program: Amcap (USBPCCamPlus). I've had difficulty
getting it to work.

(Its description is about 2/3rds of the way down this long web page
but you can also find it with the find feature in IE (edit menu > find
- Ctrl+f - and find with keyword usbpc). But here's a direct hyperlink
to the download file anyway...

I plug in my camera but it says...

"Sorry, you have no video capture hardware"

Does it work for you?

Do you actually have a "USB PC Cam Plus" camera? Amcap is one of the
DirectShow sample applications. It's quite possible this company modified
it so it only works with their hardware.

I have the same dental camera which is mentioned in this hyperlink
(below) on the Chinavasion downloads webpage.

Its the same software that came on the mini-CD that came with my
dental camera.

Hi,

I've tested the software, it is not a modified version specific to their
hardware.
Our own USB camera is working correctly.
Did you select your camera through "Devices" menu and click "Preview" on
Options menu ?

I should say the "Sorry, you have no video capture hardware" appears
actually not when I plug in my dental camera but as soon as I start
the Amcap program.

The "Devices" menu doesn't list any video device just an audio device
(SigmaTel Audio) - as shown in the uploaded picture above. Ticking
that doesn't help since the dental camera has no microphone anyway.

I have tried the options menu and clicked preview but it didn't help.

Do you have any screen shots (print screen) of Amcap working for you?
I have uploads pictures to Hotmail's Skydrive.
What camera do you have?
