From: Ant on 23 Jan 2010 04:02 Weird, I have this new Antec Basiq BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC power supply from a month ago: Doesn't Boot Up (even without unneeded hardwares to boot up show BIOS, but still spins fans and show hardware lights) with: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (dual core) 939 4600+ CPU, MSI K8N NEO4-F (MS-7125) motherboard (NVIDIA nForce4), EVGA GeForce 8800 GT (PCIE; NVIDIA), etc. Worked with: AMD Athlon 64 (single core) 754 3200+ CPU, ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard (VIA chipset), GeForce FX 5200 (AGP; NVIDIA), etc. Antec Basiq BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC power supply worked on both! What is different between 550 and 500 to cause this? http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/index.php?page=power_supply shows: 500+ has: Advanced Hybrid Cable Management Over Current Protection Differences Between 500+ and 500: Cooling fan sizes (80mm vs. 120mm) Over Current Protection for 500+ Over Power Protection for regular 500 ATX12V Compliance versions are different (v2.01 vs. v2.2) Thank you in advance. :) -- "This is the ant. I forgot to mention that I tried *two* MSI K8N NEO4-F (MS-7125) motherboards (NVIDIA nForce4) as well. Anyways, I am using 500 watts and it seems fine right now. I hope it's stay that way. I noticed its PSU fan seems louder.
