I'm not familiar with the Kaspersky antivirus program, but I have seen signs on the Microsoft newsgroups that the Norton versions older than 2009 are not compatible with the Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail email/newsreader programs from Microsoft. Also, the 2009 and 2010 versions are supposed to be compatible with the email portions of those programs, but not adequately tested for compatibility with the newsgroups portions. Robert Miles
