my Windows Movie Maker works great until I attempt to play music. When I
insert music, it lets it snap into place, but when i choose to play the video
or preview the music clip, it will make no noise. My volume is turned up and
everything. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Movie Maker works best with .wma or .wav audio files.
If your music file is a different format (MP3 for example)
it may be worth a try to convert it to .wma before importing.

The following freeware can do the conversion:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Format Factory
http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(FWIW...you may want to uncheck
all the boxes on the final screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
open the program and choose an Output Folder...
(this is where you will find your files after they are
converted)

Drag/drop your audio file onto the main screen...

Select 'All to WMA' / OK...

Left click...Start...on the toolbar...

That should do it...

Good luck...
