From: Mark Carver on 14 Jan 2010 11:58 I've got a Nokia 5800. Unlocked and used with a Vodafone SIM The clock was originally manually set, and Auto Update set to 'off' In this mode the phone lost about 10 secs a day. I enabled Auto Update, and now the phone is a constant 6 seconds behind actual UTC/GMT as reference from BBC pips, MSF, etc. That's fine. I've taken it abroad, within seconds of logging on to a country's network, the clock updates to local time, and remains locked to it (albeit 6 secs slow) However, when I return to the UK, it remains stuck on the foreign time. I've left it for several hours but no luck. Once manually set, I then re-enable Auto Update, and the accuracy returns. I've just returned from a 'triangular' trip, from country 1 (UAE) to country 2 (Egypt) it updated to local time within seconds. However landing at Heathrow today, guess what !? What is, and where's the problem; Nokia or Vodafone UK ? -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk
