I did clearly say that the easy way will 'disable' the update, but obviously you don't want to disable or ignore the important ones. I did this with a software update for an unused smart card reader built-in to my keyboard - I think you will agree, this could be safely ignored.

Fair enough re smart card reader update.. but the only problem is, it's very likely that those other updates that fail to install will be some of the essential security updates.
