okay, I'm going nuts with this one. BCWP is always equal to ACWP. Everytime
I enter the %complete, it loads the actual work values into the resource
usage table. Actual work comes to me from the CAM, which is off the labor
reports. I need to load this into the actual work field, on a per week
basis. When I do that, the work field gets updated and BCWP still equals
ACWP. How do I tell this thing to stop spreading the work?

Hi Chris_J_S,

Have you tried entering the Actual Work into either the Task
Usage or Resource usage view? The right hand side can be
configured to show Actual Work -- you can have much greater
control over where the work gets spread.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

In addition to Julie's suggestion, it seems kind of weird to me that you're
using % Complete to update tasks with Earned Value. Can't say I've seen
much of that, as usually people end up using some measure of Actuals Work
as she suggested.

If you do wish to use % Complete, you may wish to look at the options in
Tools > Options > Calculation. You'll see a number of items that control
how % Complete is applied to a task relative to the Status Date. That may
also help with your issue.
