In the sense that it runs Windows and isn't available yet at all?
Oh, and has less than half the battery life?

In the sense that it runs a whole new OS for which there isn't
a huge App store, and, again, isn't yet available?
Oh, and is larger and has less than half the battery life, too.

Another Windows machine. Also with half the battery life
and a spinning hard drive (much more delicate, sucks down
batteries).

Look, these are all interesting devices. I hope that at
least one of them makes it out there and gives Apple incentive
to improve the iPad. I don't think anyone thinks the iPad
is perfect. But I've yet to see any slate device which was
particularly good. I'm optimistic that the iPad will be
more than just good. We'll see.

But you trolls are really getting tiresome.

you are missing the attraction of the joojoo.

they have sold a total of 90 preorders (ignoring the 15 who cancelled),
which means you can be on a first name basis with *everyone* who owns
one. that is something you just cannot do with an ipad.

Well, they get fed so they keep coming back. But the sheer anger at
Apple and all its works that is out there amazes me. I've looked and a
few reports about the iPad on various media sites today and the
commentary is frequently vicious from the first anti-Apple post, like
the very existence of the iPad is a personal slap in the face from Steve
Jobs.

I don't get it. Who cares what computer I use, other than me? I don't
care what computer other people use. It's like being pissed off at
people for using a Maytag washing machine instead of a Kenmore or owning
an Amana microwave.

W(hy)TF would anybody be mad about what appliances- including computers-
I have in my house? I remain alternately amused and puzzled by the
Apple hatred out there.

Oh, great. Now we're hearing from the Maytag cult. :-)
