Where can I find instrument definitions and other midi itmes for my Boss
DR-880 drum machine? Also, which patch codes and bank codes should I use
from Sonar to drive my Boss?

Have you looked for it at www.cakewalknet.com ? They have a ton of Ins
def files. Best place on the Web for them. Alternatively, have you
posted on the "official" Sonar forum (via the cakewalk website)? Good luck!
