I just now created a "virgin" system on a separate drive with just OS X
10.6, my several user accounts, and one administrator account. I added
the desktop backgrounds, copying the .jpg files from my regular system,
and enabled them within each user account using the Desktop & Screen
Saver system preference, setting things so that in each account the
desktop image will change at one minute intervals.I did not install
Loginox or any application not included with the OS itself, and other
than copying the .jpg files there was no other data brought from my
regular system.

The oddity of having the "Aurora" desktop sometimes appear for the
first minute when switching to a different account still occurs. So I
guess whatever the issue is it isn't with Loginox.

Then I suspect the issue is with Apple's desktop switch code.

An interesting followup is that I've continued building the "virgin"
system, adding my applications, and that does include Loginox, and for
reasons unbeknownst it has now been quite a few hours since the
"Aurora" desktop has appeared when signing onto or off of any of the
accounts, and there have been quite a few such changing of accounts.

So, methinks it is somewhat of a mystery.
