Hi Guys,

Had a bit of an issue on Friday. Installed an Exchange 2010 server in a
domain with 2003. No issues, all went well. Well, it suddenly died on us
(2003 server). No worries, all the mailboxes have been moved but there is a
ton of legacy stuff in AD it seems. I am getting all sorts of wonderful
errors basically saying where the hell is the old 2003 server.

My question, what should I do about removing all these legacy references. I
don't want to rebuild the old server to remove it, if that helps.

I have already removed the connectors, had the mailboxes removed anyway.
Just errors like routing to the old store etc.

Would love any help you could provide.

If I were you I would just bring up a quick and dirty excahange 2003
server. Use virtual pc or vmware (all free). Use the old server name.
do the install with the /disasterrecovery switch and then follow the
processes for clean removal. Easier, better and safer than delving
inside adsiedit.
