From: Lobster on 5 Jan 2010 05:30 As a family member is now ending a 12-month 100%-free cashback contract, which I've successfully claimed for all the amounts due, I applied recently for a new cashback deal (from the same internet retailer, as this was the most suitable deal going). Apart from the initial acknowledgement email I've heard nothing back after several days; the order isn't tracking on their site (ie apparently it doesn't 'exist' within my account); they are ignoring chasing emails and I can't get through on the phone to talk. I'm wondering whether it's possible that I'm being given the cold shoulder because they know I'm very likely to again claw back all their profit via cashbacks (and if so they are 100% right!)? Is this likely? It's a right PITA, as with no information, I don't know whether this deal will materialise or not, and in any case it's by far the best one around. Not naming the company here (yet) other than to say they are CPW-owned so I'd have hoped would be more reliable than some?

I ceased dealing with CPW, TalkTalk etc quite a while back because they ignored complaints, emails, letters to the chief exec etc. Their systems failed miserably to show the correct positions of accounts or anything at all. I have heard they are not so bad at dealing with things on the phone but you may need a great deal of time and money. Once upon a time they used to be a really good company which I used and recommended.

They haven't got your money yet. What do you think it will be like when they do?

As regards receiving the cashbacks due fro them; well if it's as reliable as it has from the last 12 months of being signed up to the same company then I'll be delighted. David

Just to close this in case anybody else was wondering - FWIW the deal did eventually go through without quibble (just that delivery took about 5 days rather than the promised next working day; and it never did appear on the web-tracking system!)
