Please by all means help by reporting this bug to Apple as I have done.

This is a known bug with Safari as Safari doesn't meet compliance standards
in regards to the proper handling of Ajax. cPanel has made Apple aware of
this issue and as you can see, no fix has yet been released.

I am able to connect to CPanel on my website just fine using Safari 5
and Mac OS 10.6.3. The message you have reported ("can't connect to the
server ...") does not necessarily mean that there is a bug in Safari.
Let us know if and when the problem is resolved. Thanks.

Yep.

I also use cPanel 11 with Safari 4 and Safari 5 without issue.

Several years ago there was a problem connecting with Comcast's POP
server from whatever version of Mail was then the latest. One day
several of my clients could no longer receive their email via Mail, and
Comcast told them, and me, that it was Apple's fault. Never mind that it
had been working fine until that day and started for all these people
simultaneously, without Apple having released any updates at that time.

I tried explaining this to a couple of their support drones, but they
stuck to the script and blamed Apple. My clients were pissed at having
to switch mail clients or use webmail, but that's all I could have them
do. Then one day Mail suddenly started working fine, again without Apple
having released any updates that coincided with this.
