Which I don't have and never installed their software (nobody touches this system other than me). Didn't make sense to me then nor does it now. But if you don't feel it was a fair question to ask here that's fine. For the record though, I just realized I could delete the file from my Accounts Info which means it's gone now anyway. Thanks for the help and the kind words... -- Cheers Dennis Remove 'Elle-Kabong' to reply

I never said it wasn't a fair question, but _you_ could have said you had done the Google search, read that it's for a Canon scanner, and asked how it could have gotten onto your computer. Or, to put it another way, how could Dave or anyone else possibly have known you knew what you already knew without you specifically saying so? In fact, you specifically stated that you had found nothing. Anyway, I can't think of anyway it could have gotten onto your computer at all and into your login items without someone having installed the Canon software. If you migrated to this Mac from another one, it could have been on that other Mac. -- <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/musings.cgi> Muckraking T-shirts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://bogart-tribute.net> Tribute to Humphrey Bogart

Next time I will post the search engine links just to show what I did find and to satisfy your hunger for correctness in questions. A simple question is all it was. Could have, should have, would have etc... > Anyway, I can't think of anyway it could have gotten onto your computer > at all and into your login items without someone having installed the > Canon software. Where it came from doesn't really matter now as it appears to be gone. Anyway, thanks for your help again ;-) -- Cheers Dennis Remove 'Elle-Kabong' to reply

I replied to your post that I had used Google & Yahoo and found nothing. I suppose nothing that made sense to me would have been better. I've never installed any Canon software for a scanner or any Canon product nor for my camera either my camera is a Pentax and didn't have to install anything for it. Yet just the same, thanks for your help too as at least you did explain/confirm what the file was for. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by all this. OK? -- Cheers Dennis Remove 'Elle-Kabong' to reply

And did I or did I not answer that question quickly and directly in my first post to this thread? All this other stuff was to explain Dave's response. That's another fine mess you've gotten me into, Dave! -- <http://designsbymike.net/shop/mac.cgi> Mac and geek T-shirts & gifts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/musings.cgi> Muckraking T-shirts <http://designsbymike.net/shop/prius.cgi> Prius shirts/bumper stickers <http://bogart-tribute.net> Tribute to Humphrey Bogart
