From: Lao Ming on 16 Mar 2010 05:35 I'm looking for a 24-inch monitor on a stand that can raise or lower the monitor and be used with the Mac mini. So far I've found the Samsung 2443bwt but it seems to have become more expensive rather than becoming cheaper in the past 12 months. Thanks for your recommendations.

I can't really argue with that, but we use Benqs in our house; we've got a 20 and a 22, and they just sit there and perform. I've seen a 24 at our local print shop, and it's my next purchase. http://www.benq.ca/products/LCD/?product=913 -- Very old woody beets will never cook tender. -- Fannie Farmer

I got a quality LCD monitor once (top end Dell), cost a fortune and bust just after guarantee ran out! I am scarred for life! So I say to you, get anything, they are all good enough these days. I am running an LG 24", an Viewsonic 20" and a Dell 19" and they are fine enough (especially when sitting *directly* in front of them) and it is nice knowing that if they pack up I will throw them out like they cheaply deserve! [With my good Dell, I actually pulled it apart (I am not kidding) and photographed the whole procedure. The $15 neon tubes needed replacing probably or maybe the little board controlling them. Parts were available in US. But with the uncertainty of eventual success, and other time pressures (like having to move office), I threw the damn thing out. Yes, it hurt. I kept the shell for a while (a quality stand, the frame of the screen and intended to stick in a photograph in it) but decided that this would be like the awful practice of having moose heads and stuffed pets around the joint.] -- dorayme |
