In the words of the immortal Roseanne Roseannadanna: Never mind.

The reason I was getting errors is because the disks I was trying
to make images of are flawed, all three of them. I forgot that I had
created them with a burner that was out of whack.

Thanks for your suggestions. I'm sorry I wasted your time. I
wasted several hours of mine, if that's any consolation.
