Ok, sonicwall is in my home, along with temp dc & new 2008 SBS. I copied the settings from office firewall & uploaded them to spare to see that all necessary ports, etc., were open & yes, I did change WAN settings to reflect those at my home! Ipconfig shows sonicwall as default gateway & while I can ping & traceroute from firewall using diagnostics, I can't from 2008 SBS. If I ping, it pulls up the right address, but times out. 2003 SBS that is set up as my temp DC for the migration is set up same way, on same network & can get out to the internet fine. I have not installed ISA, as it hasn't been mentioned yet in the SBS Migration documents. When running the connect to the internet wizard from SBS console, the test fails & tells me the router is not configured to connect to the internet, but 2003 SBS connects just fine & it's going through that same router (firewall). When running the wizard & checking firewall logs, I also see messages about malformed or unhandled IP packets dropped, coming from IP address of 2008 SBS with a destination address of 224.0.0.1 or 224.0.0.22.

Interesting. I would have never thought to look for or think of that. It must have been a rule to the 2003 SBS, correct? Ace
