I'm migrating from 2003 SBS to 2008, using the swing migration kit &
am at the point of running the connect to the internet wizard on what
will be my new 2008 sbs.
I have a spare firewall, Sonicwall TZ-170, that I've copied my
setting to from the one in my production environment, wanting to
simulate my office LAN as closely as possible in working out all the
bugs.
My problem is, I can't get on the Internet!
I can run the diagnostics from the Sonicwall, ping, traceroute, etc.,
that all pass fine, but SBS box cannot connect.
Any idea why?

have you contacted the folks at sbsmigration. Since you are using their kit, support is included and should be pretty prompt

Can the SBS ping and tracert? Does the SBS have the Sonicwall as the
gateway? Did you use the wizards in the Sonicwall? Probably a
Sonicwall issue is my guess. What happens when you attach your laptop
to the Sonicwall, manually enter a good ip, the Sonicwal as the
gateway and 208.67.222.222 as a dns entry?

Just for clarification, where is the Sonicwall installed? At home or in the office? If you copied the settings to the spare firewall, and it has the office ISP settings, did you change them to the settings where you setup your lab? When you ran the diagnostics from the Sonicwall, I assume you are pinging an running a tracert to an external address? If so, then I assume it is actually connected to the internet.

While running the SBS wizard, did you install ISA?

Run ipconfig /all on the SBS 2008 server and see if the SBS 2008 server has
a default gateway or if it is blank.
