From: neo [mvp outlook] on 28 Jul 2008 07:18 You didn't mention what version of Office/outlook you are using, but I would suggest an uninstall/reinstall (or repair) of the product since it looks like you have problems with the registry. /neo ps - depending on how badly your registry is damaged, you may end up reloading windows. of course only you will know if windows is giving you issues. From: TC Lok on 28 Jul 2008 10:29 Hi Neo, Thanks for your advice. I am using outlook 2003 (11.8206.8202) SP3 and WindowsXP SP3. I did run the repair, install it many times. Now, I can start outlook 2003 but there is nothing in the profile. When I press Tools and E-mail accounts. It reveals "The operation failed due to registry or installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If the problem persists, please install" Then, I restart outlook but it does not help. When I go to control panel > mail and press either "E-mail Accounts" or "Data Files", nothing happen. I can access "Show Profiles". I had created several profiles. I press "Property" and then "E-mail Accounts" or "Data Files", nohting happen. From: neo [mvp outlook] on 28 Jul 2008 17:36 do you have the same problem under a new windows xp user id? Just so you know, this will help you figure out if the corruption is user or machine based. If it works under the new user id, then you pretty much know that the registry keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER are toast under your existing/old user id.
