I began a MPP plan in 2009 for a project, certain milestones were met as well
as the loading for 2010. I want to remove Sept-Dec 2009 from the MPP and only
show 2010 for use and reporting purposes.

How can I do this?

We draw a vertical line down the schedule, say on 12/31/2009. Any task in
progress as of that date is split.

Now it become a matter of arranging the remaining work and completed work
into two sections on the schedule. So, you eventually end up with two new
roll up summaries "2009" and "2010". Now collapse the 2009 summary. If you
wish, apply a filter to only show tasks where Finish>1/1/10.

This does involve duplication of the project structure. You then "just"
delete what doesn't belong there and make sure you link it correctly. For
example, you may have a task completing in 2009 that drives the start of
something in 2010.
