My new Dell notebook has a trial version of the Student edition of Office
2007 preinstalled. It will not accept the validation code of my Office
Enterprise 2007 disks. How do I install the Enterprise edition? Do I remove
the whole preinstalled version first?

You need to remove the trial and activation assistant first, reboot, then
install your edition.

Why would you expect the key for one version to work with a different
version?
