Firefox 3.6 has been in the repositories for a week or so, its listed
if you look...not sure what its name was [I'm not in OS now]
other than probably listed as "firefox 3.6", it transferred all my
bookmarks and settings and compatible plugins, and removes old
3.5x version, uses same Firefox icon if I remember right.

Try it..Firefox 3.6 seems faster or as fast as Chrome now!

If you don't see it listed look for it at openSuse one-click install
web site at http://software.opensuse.org/search
select your OS version before search.

My Firefox is the openSUSE branded 3.5.7 and has been for awhile. Do you
have the Mozilla repository installed?

I installed the 3.6 tar.bz2 from Mozilla and it is faster, but must
have created a new profile because none of the plugins I have seem to work.

Which reminds me along with waiting for the update to Seamonkey, I am
also waiting for the openSUSE branded Firefox 3.6. (sigh)

Just checked the Mozilla repository and just found this:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.2/x86_64/MozillaFirefox-3.6.0-1.2.x86_64.rpm

Interesting fact is it is dated 22-Jan-2010

So, we get a bit torrent client upgrade before it's released and are
still waiting for an upgrade of a web browser released long ago.

I think I'll go back to trying to figure out women. :)

3.6 just seems faster to me, and think it was Cnet ran tests [probably
windows version only] finding 3.6 was quite a bit faster.

I also saw that, the day after the app updated through Yast, and the web
site was still indicating that v1.83 was the current stable version.

That was what caused my confusion. I'm not used to updates before
official releases.

I'll keep that in mind if and when Transmission is ready for prime time.
I think it may be dropped in favor of qBittorrent if some future
release. However I've gone back to using uTorrent in Wine.

Much better.
