From: cscottrun on 31 Mar 2010 13:46 I have a new computer and I need to load my custom dictionary for Word and Outlook. I copied my custom dictionary from my old computer to a thumbdrive then put it into the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\UProof folder, went to Word Options/proofing, clicked Custom Dictionaries, located my custom dictionary, checked the box next to it, made it my default, clicked on Edit Word List to make sure it had my defined words, clicked a bunch of OK's. Word still doesn't see my dictionary. When I right click on a word that Word doesn't recognize and pull up Autocorrect and Autocorrect Options, the list of words is not my custom dictionary. Am I missing a step somewhere?
From: Graham Mayor on 1 Apr 2010 02:10 If the dictionary appears in the list and is checked. What language is associated with it in that dialog? Is that the same version of the language that you are using? Do you have 'automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker' checked in the autocorrect dialog? -- <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org <>>< ><<> ><<> <>>< ><<> <>>< <>><<> "cscottrun" <cscottrun(a)discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:71BB6E8F-8FAC-4A79-8F40-5157DD619882(a)microsoft.com... >I have a new computer and I need to load my custom dictionary for Word and > Outlook. From: cscottrun on 1 Apr 2010 09:41 Thanks for the response. My dictionary is listed and is checked. Language was "all languages". I changed that to English (U.S.). Still no joy. I've removed all other dictionaries so mine is the only one listed. Not sure what you mean by "Is that the same version of the language that you are using?" Is that a setting? I have 'automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker' checked in the autocorrect dialog. "Graham Mayor" wrote: > If the dictionary appears in the list and is checked.
