Monotonicity of allpass phase function I have looked at P.P. Vaidayanthan's "Multirate Systems and Filter Banks" on the topic of the monotonicity of the unwrapped phase response of an allpass digital filter. The proof is based on the observation that the group delay is always positive and hence slope of the phase response is always negative, ergo phi(w... 5 Mar 2010 15:03
Statics and Mechanics of Materials by Bedford, Fowler, Liechti solutions manual I have solutions manuals for these scientific textbooks .. They are all in PDF format .. Program for drawing signal flow diagrams Hi all. I hope this isn't completely off topic. For a larger project I need to draw some state space/signal flow diagrams. I'm not sure of the correct word but they are kind of like the diagrams you draw in Simulink. I'm looking for a piece of software which can do that for me. Simulink is a little too s... 4 Mar 2010 05:34
Maximize sum of cross correlations with respect to phase? Hi, Having the amplitude spectrum of a sign I have previously aimed to assign a phase to the corresponding signal such that the sum of cross correlations (at timeshift zero) with a number of other signals is maximized. In matlab it would be expressed as: max z = sum(sum(conj(S).*X_1) + sum(conj(S).*X_2) + ..... 4 Mar 2010 15:46

confusion with Q format and ADC's Hi, I want to compute an fft using a microcontroller with a hardware multiplier. I saw an application note from maxim which stated that the fft inputs and outputs are in Q format. If I get the samples from my ADC in 2's complement format do I need to convert that into Q format to do the computations? thanks, ... 2 Mar 2010 15:47
Compensating for gyro sensor drift All, I am designing a control system for a hovering quadrotor. The MEMS gyroscope (angular rate) sensors have a slowly drifting zero-rate point. To me, the bias seems fairly constant for several seconds, then jumps to a new value, and this pattern repeats. Both the time and the magnitude of the jump seem random.... 5 Mar 2010 12:47
eliptic iir filter attenuation Hello all. Let me say that i've learn a lot reading this articles. I'm designing a system that will (hopefully) sample an IF signal and decode it (AM, SSB, etc). At present I have the code in place to downmix it and downsample to 31 Khz fs. No problems here. After this step I whould like to low-pass filter it ... 1 Mar 2010 19:50
Accurate Harmonic Analysis I am fairly new (or, more accurately, still very wet behind the ears) to DSP. I have very little formal training and got thrust into the duties of handling the embedded DSP programming for our project. So please forgive me if I ask something that is very basic. . .and I believe it is kind of basic. At first my dut... 5 Mar 2010 16:11 |
