To be clearer, I already looked in the WinXP control panel "User Accounts"
applet.

All it had was "glenda" (Computer administrator, Password protected) and
"guest" (Guest account is off).

There is no "administrator" other than me (I always thought I was the
administrator).

Since Windows thinks I'm the administrator but for some reason DVD Fab HD
Decrypter thinks I'm not, is there some way to tell DVDFab HD Decrypter
that I am indeed the administrator of this PC?

I forgot to add I'm using Windows XP Home.

Since there is only one account, and it's me, and I'm the administrator,
how do I get DVDFab HD Decrypter to believe that I'm the administrator?

Weird. I found out, digging a bit, that on Windows XP Home, you can NEVER
log into the "true" Administrator, except in safe mode. Huh?

That's what it says here:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=290109
"When you install Windows XP Home Edition, you are prompted to enter a
password for the Administrator account. After the installation has
completed, you can only use the Administrator account in Safe mode."

Then why does the User control panel say I'm the administrator?

And, does EVERYONE have to log out and boot up in safe mode, to log in as
the "true" administrator, just to install DVDFab HD Decrypter on Windows XP
Home edition?

No, just you.

Maybe your machine is compromised and someone else is logged in as the real
administrator.

Do a SWB scan to find if there's a keylogger or virus or ...
