No worries, your ramblings were useful :-)

We're actually getting good results with a Cisco 877, using new
firmware. It's actually DSL firmware that's not publicly available
yet, but Cisco decided that our line would be good for testing. We get
occasional drops (once per week) but the line is otherwise fairly
stable. Not tried the BT2Wire, but it was unstable with Netgear kit.

We don't use RWW either (I look after a dozen SBS sites, and no-one
uses RWW) but RDP to the server from home works fine for admin
purposes.

Yep, sorry, I keep forgetting that people across the pond have computers
