From: Binary on 23 Dec 2009 06:23 Is it possible defragment hard disk on win98(FAT32), 20Gb, and only 1.5Gb free space? If so, how much time it may take?
From: David on 23 Dec 2009 06:55 About all things are possible. You may not know it, but back in "the Old Days" when a 10 MB harddrive was large, well we defragged. Have a go with whatever program you have. Working time is subject to various things, speed of program, processor speed, spare memory, etc, Have a long coffee. If there is not enought head room the program will soon tell you.If this is the case, then unload, any disk packed higher than about 85% is asking for trouble, slow working etc. Also it depends on the type/style of the defrag prg that you use. Some programs will work using approximately only 2% of memory. Dave.
