From: The Natural Philosopher on 20 Apr 2010 07:24 Somewhere along the line my Google earth (used very rarely) stopped working. Cant find (some of its) its libraries..32 bit gtk specifically. so..try and install them again. Why have they gone? Traced to using the latest libasound2 from backports. Its 64 bit, BUT the latest 32 bit version depends on it, in an *older* version, and without libasound2 32 bit, the other 32 bit libraries that depend on THAT for some reason.. seemed to have been removed in the 'upgrade'.. Anyone know a safe way out? Or even who to report it to.. The chain seems to be, I want teh package ia32-libs-gtk which depends on ia32-libs which depends on lib32asound2 which depends on "libasound2 (=1.0.16-2) but 1.0.22-2~bpo50+1 is to be installed" Arggh. I don't now how to get back to 1.0.16-2..synaptic doesn't show it as an option..
