From: Johnnyjomp on 14 Jun 2006 00:55 Hi all... I have noticed that my desktop picture will disappear occasionally. I will choose a picture, and all is fine. Something happens a week or a month later, and the picture is no longer displayed on my desktop. Oddly enough, it does flash on the screen as I shut down the computer. If I right-click the desktop and check the settings, the picture I want IS selected, but does not appear. If I deselect that photo, it is no longer on the list of available photos. It has happened with several pix over time. Any ideas? John

It sounds like you are applying the image directly from the Internet (set as Desktop background) and these images are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Naturally, as this folder is cleaned up regularly the images will disappear. Instead, when you find a picture online that you like right-click and choose "Save As" and save the image somewhere logical (perhaps "Internet pictures" in My Documents). Then it will not disappear. From: Johnnyjomp on 15 Jun 2006 00:34 Hi Malke... They are not internet pix, but possibly images that I have moved or renamed. That would explain why they are no longer on the desktop. That does not explain, though, why the picture reappears for a very short moment when I am shutting down.
