From: Jim on 7 Apr 2010 05:00 Hi friends, I always thought that the discussion list SAS-L and the Usenet newsgroup comp.soft-sys.sas were virtually mirrors of each other and I thought they were in the past. But comparing both of them now (I just had a glimpse on the newsgroup) they seem to be entirely different, unlinked. I can access the newsgroup using the news reader Nomad News and the news server news.eternal-september.org or via the web interface http://www.webuse.net (the other alternative http://newsgroups.derkeiler.com does not show comp.soft-sys.sas). The newsgroups seems to be a little less busy than SAS-L, but still worth to read and to participate in too, time permitting. Can anyone of you tell me more about the relation between both during the course of the past time? Regards - Jim. -- Jim Groeneveld, Netherlands Statistician, SAS consultant http://jim.groeneveld.eu.tf

Longer term, I am going to have to find another way to make the link as UGA wants to get rid of its news server. So we'll see. --Joe
