From: Vincent T on 5 Feb 2010 11:37 I have a third party display,(V7 branded I think), running at 1440 x 900 on my Intel Mac Mini. The quality is only fair. I'm checking out an HP 2009m 20 which has a stated resolution of 1600 x 900. Will this work well with Macs? We're talking 1.7:1 for the new display opposed to 1.6:1 for the old.

Yes, it will certainly work with any Mac. When/if you buy and connect it, just open System Preferences 'Monitor' and click on the button 'Search Monitor' to the right in the window with the various resolutions. OS X will then create a color profile for the monitor. set it to the highest possible resolution and just quit System Preferences again. Erik simply stated that it will work, period. And in that regard he's correct. However, I'm guessing he hasn't a clue as to whether it will work _well_. For that matter, neither do I, as I can't say I've ever seen that display in action. The truth of the matter is that I'm buying the display unbeknownst to one of my clients. I'm tired of working on her HP system's smallish display. If she doesn't want it, I'll use it with my Mac Mini at our beach house that we can't afford. |
