How wold this work to accept the video output of a PC? Current video on
the PC is DVI - do I need to buy a video card with a displayport?

It'll only take video in as mini-DP, but there are *supposed* to be
adapters in the works for "other formats". They've been in the works
since before the new 27"ers were released...

So probably quicker and easier to get a DP-capable PC card, yes.
