Put all the money and effort into good EVFs. No one needs an LCD
anyway.

EVFs are great - I've got 3 EVF cameras but I still really need the LCD on
the back for previewing including using the magnifying facility to make sure
that the picture is sharp.

The only people who don't need an LCD viewfinder are the inexperienced or
ignorant non-creative snapshooters. Those who would never have need to:

Take photos in cramped caves using a swing-out LCD to compose their shot.

Take macro-photos in low positions to the ground. For example: taking a
photo of the intricate and delicate undersides of mushroom caps while
capturing the bright fall colors of the trees above it in the background
(one of my own favorites).

Pole-photography to capture the contents of endangered birds' nests without
disturbing the birds (as much as possible).

Etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., ....

The list of uses for an LCD viewfinder are infinite (many examples listed
before many times, which fool trolls like you are too ignorant or stupid to
retain). Those infinite number of valuable uses are only readily apparent
to those that actually know how to use cameras properly. I would not buy
any camera without both, LCD and EVF viewfinder. My many styles and widely
varying subjects for photography demands this. Optical viewfinders on the
other hand; with their inaccurate framing, uselessness in low-light,
inability to zoom into details for precision focusing, no possibility of
real-time shutter-speed-preview, etc.; have proved worthless in so many
situations that they are no longer a requirement, they are only a hindrance
to the infinite possibilities.

Only people who actually need an LCD are people who don't know how to
expose, or who simply don't trust their own ability to compose a
shot. Looking at a shot on an LCD is a nice luxury, but it certainly
isn't needed, by anyone who can use a camera.

I do. I look to see what the shot I just took looks like.
Taking pictures of kids is not easy, I take a burst and delete the
ones that are bad, I like to delete them on the camera
If not happy with any I shoot again.

Or use Live view with a tripod and magnify the image 10x to help focus
manually.

And the colour LCD doubles as a B/W menu/settigs display.
